Based in Cape Town, Arno is celebrated as an award-winning frontman, platinum-selling singer-songwriter, and accomplished fine artist, with a career that has shaped the sound and spirit of contemporary music and art. First emerging in the mid-1990s as the frontman of the alternative rock band Springbok Nude Girls, Arno helped redefine the nation’s music landscape as a central figure in one of South Africa’s most enduring and influential bands. Springbok Nude Girls went on to achieve widespread recognition and multiple SAMA Awards, establishing a powerful cultural voice that continues to resonate decades later. Alongside this legacy, Arno has built a formidable solo career that stands at the centre of his artistic identity. Since the release of his debut solo album Another Universe in 2003, which earned a SAMA for Best Rock Album, Arno has built a distinctive solo catalogue as a songwriter and recording artist.
