KAREL BESTER & DIE KRAAINES BAND
Karel Bester & Die Kraaines Band are a Cape Town-based Afrikaans alternative band known for their self-described “psychedelic boere-punk” — a collision of traditional boeremusiek and folk, punk-rock energy, Americana and psychedelic textures. Raw, theatrical and proudly unconventional, their music explores contemporary Afrikaans identity while pushing its musical traditions into strange new territory. Their debut studio album ONKRUID was released in 2026 and received a SAMA nomination.
MEASUREHEAD
Measurehead are an up-and-coming Cape Town three-piece delivering a potent mix of post-punk, noise rock and experimental energy. Built around powerful grooves, raw intensity and unpredictable jams, their sound is restless, abrasive and full of surprises.
CISTAMATIC
Cistamatic are a Cape Town three-piece art-punk/grunge band made up of Gabbi le Roux, Ethan Pelser and James Turner. Formed in 2022, they combine fuzzy guitars, thrashing drums and melodic hooks with the raw energy of punk, riot grrrl and grunge. Their latest album, Fear Is the Weapon, was released in 2025.
